Meet your YE Team

We are extremely excited to offer e² Young Engineers® programs to the Wycombe and South Bucks area! E² Young Engineers® programs include after-school enrichment classes, pre-school classes, summer camps, birthday parties and special events where children are given an opportunity to LEARN while having FUN building with the world’s favourite building block – LEGO®! Our programs utilize an EDUTAINMENT (education + entertainment) approach, transforming the learning process into a game while introducing children to theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

Melody Pires and Declan Pires

Managing Director – Young Engineers Wycombe and South Bucks

So let me introduce you to myself and the purpose of our mission. My name is Melody Pires and I am the owner/operator of the e² Young Engineers Wycombe and South Bucks franchise.

When we first discovered the e² Young Engineers programs, my husband and I instantly fell in love with the concept and ultimately found a way to bring e² Young Engineers to the UK through our Wycombe and South Bucks Franchise. As a mother and STEM Ambassador, I strongly feel that our children deserve every opportunity possible to further their understanding of how things work, whilst nurturing their creativity and what better method of doing so than by utilizing the universally loved LEGO® brick and combining it with a well thought out curriculum. What ultimately won me over is witnessing first-hand how these programs make the learning process fun, allowing children to have so much fun building and playing and then they leave the class with a further understanding of various concepts in the STEM fields…something that is so crucial in our children’s education today.

I graduated from the University of Bombay with a Bachelor in Arts and a specialism in History & Anthropology. I have travelled around the world and experienced first-hand how children across the world broaden their knowledge and creative skills. I truly believe “Learning is Childs play” and my motto for the class is “Learn —> Play—>Repeat…Play—>Learn—>Repeat! My husband, Wilbur works in the Hi tech industry and is a firm believer in the notion that curiosity and imagination has no bounds. Structuring a child’s mind to Play with a sense of freedom to explore and find out the limits to their imagination. He has worked as a Head of Security Practice/Principal Consultant in both strategic & Operational roles in the Information Technology sector for many years.  We have a son who is 7 years old and attends the e² Young Engineers programs.

Finally let me give you a sense of what this means for your child in terms of outcomes. The feedback we receive from parents generally is that the children tend to perform better and are more confident in school. The creativity and soft skill like communication aids them in how they follow a step by step approach to problem solving. The world as we know it is not going to look the same in the next 5 to 10 years or as we have experienced it growing up and wherever we can impart a natural sense of curiosity coupled with problem solving will aid them in their future endeavours. We foster a spirit of collaboration and constant improvement among our children. So bring your child to our class and experience first-hand how children are focused and enjoy the time they spend at our sessions.
