Welcome to e² Young Engineers Wycombe and South Bucks !

So why a Lego Club?! You may ask.

First and foremost, children love LEGO. Children are natural engineers; they are constantly asking questions and imagining new ideas. The Lego bricks are ideal for children to use to build their ideas because Lego bricks are simple, durable, and reusable. The simplicity of the Lego Brick allows for the children to be even more creative and often after completing a challenge they will explain different functions of each of the Lego brick.

After each Young Engineers Club session the Lego creations are taken apart and the Lego pieces go back in their trays so that they can be used to solve different challenges in the next Lego session. It is important that children learn to share, and Lego teaches this to children so that they would be able to make new Lego creations.

The primary goal of Young Engineers Lego Club is to engage children in basic engineering challenges and teach engineering concepts, which can be a difficult subject to target. The activities that are done in the Young Engineers Club can continue at home and vice versa. This allows for the children to be inspired by a Lego activity they do in the Lego Club, and then go home and recreate or redesign and add to what they created in the Lego Club.

Reason for the Club:

Getting children to express their creativity and to deliver playful learning experiences that bring subjects to life in the classroom and make learning fun and impactful by using the 4-C method i.e.

  • Connect: the topic or task is introduced, allowing students to ask clarifying questions and build on their existing knowledge.
  • Construct: every task includes a building activity to promote experimentation with collaboration and construct artefacts that can be recalled later.
  • Contemplate: students consider what has been learned and share insights with each other.
  • Continue: every task ends with a new task that builds on what has just been learned, keeping students motivated and curious.

We believe that expanding knowledge and building academic and 21st century skills will create active, collaborative, lifelong learners.

Therefore we welcome you to e² Young Engineers Wycombe and South Bucks, and  are extremely excited to offer e² Young Engineers® programs to the Wycombe and South Bucks area and beyond! e² Young Engineers® programs include after-school enrichment classes, pre-school classes, summer camps, birthday parties and special events where children are given an opportunity to LEARN while having FUN building with the world’s favorite building block – LEGO®! Our programs utilise an EDUTAINMENT (education + entertainment) approach, transforming the learning process into a game while introducing children to theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Life Skills and Mathematics (STEALM). e² Young Engineers Wycombe and South Bucks has been operating in the above areas since August 2016. Over the past few years, we have had hundreds of calls from parents and guardians inquiring about our programmes. We work with many schools and several centres throughout the area to provide our children an opportunity to experience these wonderful programs firsthand. We invite you to explore our website and learn more about what makes e² Young Engineers® programs the best enrichment program you could provide your young loved ones.

Feel free to pop down to our learning centre in High Wycombe’s Eden shopping centre to speak to us. We are there Tuesday  through Sunday from 11am-6pm (5pm on Sunday)
